Walker Ferguson, President

Walker Ferguson, Owner of Land Resource Management, Soil Scientist

Founded by Walker B. Ferguson, a Licensed Soil Scientist in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. LRM offers professional consultation on all aspects of land development. Our understanding of the region’s soils and knowledge of the regulatory system allows us to consistently permit the most economical wastewater and water solutions for our clients. Walker launched LRM in 2012 after purchasing the Soils Department from Brooks Engineering. Walker has a BS degree from The University of Tennessee in Plant and Soil Science. Walker moved to the Asheville area in 2003 to start his soil consulting career after brief stints in Bozeman, Montana and Charleston, South Carolina. Walker became a North Carolina licensed soil scientist in 2007 and obtained his soils licensure in South Carolina in 2010. Walker enjoys soccer, mountain biking, fishing, hunting and watching his kids play sports with his wife Lacy.


Seth Early - Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)

Seth Early has been with LRM since 2018 and has a BS from Western North Carolina University in Environmental Health. He is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), with over 15 years of onsite wastewater experience. Previously, he worked on the regulatory side issuing wastewater and well permits for Haywood and Buncombe counties, along with the Rutherford, McDowell, and Polk Health District (RPMHD). Seth is also a Level IV NCOWCICB licensed septic system installer. His knowledge of the regulatory system, expertise on pump and system designs, and NC wastewater approvals is unparalleled! Seth is a youth minister at his church and enjoys spending his free time camping, woodworking, and with his family.


Aaron Winters - Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)

Aaron Winters joined LRM in 2015. He earned his BS from Western North Carolina University in Natural Resource Management. Aaron is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), with over 16 years of onsite wastewater experience. Aaron also tried his hand as a chemist with Unimin mining and exploration, prior to his involvement in onsite wastewater. He has previously worked on the regulatory side issuing wastewater and well permits for the Appalachian District Health Department (ADHD). Aaron is heavily involved with his church and enjoys spending his free time shopping for campers and trucks, as well as, tinkering with cars and spending time with his family. Aaron also likes to talk…..a lot! You will know what we mean if you ever have the privilege to speak with him on the phone. You will be invited for Mom’s biscuits and get to learn about camper prices and any good deals available. You may learn a little about septic systems and soil too!


Andrew - NC certified onsite wastewater system operator

Andrew Henderson has been with LRM since inception in 2012 and has a BS from the University of Tennessee in Environmental Soil Science. Andrew previously worked with Southeast Soil Science, Inc and the Haywood County Health Department for a combined 16 years of onsite wastewater experience. Andrew is a NC certified onsite wastewater system operator. He specializes in large wastewater systems and Saturated Hydraulic Conductivity (k-sat) tests. He’s affectionally known around the office as the WNC Billy Goat, as no one can climb mountains like Mr. Henderson. Andrew enjoys spending his free time fishing, camping, farming, and making family trips to Disney World.


Sam - Level II NCOWCICB Licensed Septic System Installer

Sam has been with LRM since 2018 and has a BA from the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Sam is a level II NCOWCICB licensed septic system installer. Sam’s official job title is a field technician, but he goes far beyond that assisting with everything from K-sat tests, system layouts, to building and construction. Sam is working to obtain his General Contractors (GC) certification and recently won the 2020 Habitat for Humanity reuse/recycling building contest. Sam enjoys to spend his free time hiking, camping, woodworking and spending time with his dog (Rustle) and soon to be wife, Alex.


Matt - Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)

Matt Fisk has been with LRM since 2020 and has a BS in Biology from Lehigh University. Matt is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), with over 6 years of onsite wastewater experience. He has previously worked on the regulatory side issuing wastewater and well permits for the Appalachian District Health Department (ADHD). Matt previously was a wrestling coach for Appalachian State University. HE is heavily involved with his church and enjoys spending his free time hunting, exercising, and watching his kids play sports with his wife Tonette.

Nathan Heath received his B.S. in Soil and Water Conservation from Western Carolina University. He is a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS), with over 9 years of wastewater experience. Nathan joins LRM after serving 7 years in the public sector with Haywood County Environmental Health where he worked on the regulatory side issuing wastewater and well permits.
Nathan loves spending time with his wife Shelby and their son, Cannon. Nathan enjoys all things outdoors and is especially passionate about bow hunting, fly fishing, golfing and backpacking. He also loves football, especially his beloved Carolina Panthers and Auburn Tigers.



linkedphotoGreg Gotsch joined LRM in early 2023 and brings over 20 years of design experience, GIS and land development knowledge to the LRM team. As a Licensed Landscape Architect, he assists our clients with site design, land planning, due diligence studies, land analysis, municipal permitting, and erosion control permitting while also maintaining and managing the  GIS data obtained and used by the field crews during our projects. Greg is also a visualization specialist utilizing 3D technology and rendering capabilities in his designs to produce virtual walkthrough and architectural visualizations.

He enjoys spending his time off with his wife and daughter, riding his mountain bike, exploring the many trails in WNC, brewing beer and playing music.
